PILATES INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION

- Students who want to teach at Mighty or any Pilates studio around the world
- Instructors that have been teaching Pilates at a studio that does not have full certification
- Anyone who wants to go deep into their Pilates practice
OVERVIEW
Join us for our Pilates Instructor Certification in our Los Angeles (Santa Monica & Westwood) studio or our Bay Area studios (taught in Marin and Berkeley). You’ll learn to lead the Mighty Pilates classes and 1:1 private sessions you already love from some of our senior instructors. This is a comprehensive program where you will become fully certified in Mat, Reformer, Cadillac/Tower work, Chair, learn Functional Anatomy and how to incorporate props into your repertoire. We have created custom workbooks with Classical Pilates moves and tips for Mighty style.
The program is designed around participants’ personal / work schedules and to maximize studio time with Trainers. We know you are all busy, so elements like anatomy, and some observation or lectures can be done online, at your own pace.
PREREQUISITES
- Take or observe at least 20 Pilates equipment classes
- Online Anatomy Course from Breathe Academy specific to Pilates – links to be shared with students before the program and will be $295

TESTING
- Quizzes after Mat, Reformer, Chair and Tower during weekend instruction. Includes written and performing 5 exercises drawn at random and demonstrating them.
- Written exam after all requirements are wrapped up
- Teaching 50-minute mini class after all requirements are wrapped up
- Failed Tests can be re-taken until you pass. We want you to graduate!
INCLUDED
- 5 books filled with pictures, Pilates principles, biomechanics and an overview of classical Pilates exercises on Mat, Reformer, Chair, and Tower. There is also a book on the Art of Teaching.
- Over 100 hours of time in the studio – many with Master Instructors
- Full training on Mat, Reformer, Chair and Cadillac/Tower repertoire
- How to cue, provide modifications and incorporate props
- Teaching 1:1 Private Sessions and tips for how to keep clients coming back
- How to teach classes with a wide variety of skill levels – from newbies, fitness warriors, special populations (i.e., Pre/Post Natal) to advanced practitioners
- Working with basic injuries, like neck/back problems
- Designing a class that flows well, works all body parts, gets the heart pumping, and has minimal spring changes and moving equipment around
- We teach you the exercises based on the traditional method developed by Joseph Pilates, but we also give you the tools to become your own, creative teacher without having to rely on a formulaic routine
- How to teach a motivating, inspiring class from beginner classes to power Pilates
- Up to 5 hours of observation time at Mighty Pilates and access to classes that can be observed online
- Freedom to practice in the studios during approved times
- 20% off Mighty classes and Private sessions over the course of your certification program

PRICE
Mighty Pilates program cost is $5,195. This does not include the cost of privates or classes required to complete the program. This does include your book costs of $320

Pilates Anatomy Training Course from Breathe Academy: Pay $295 directly
So, total cost of program with Anatomy is $5,195.
Students will receive 20% off all Mighty classes and services until they complete test out. If you want to rent the private space to practice training, cost is $20 per rental (based on availability).
Mighty employees receive a 30% discount. Books and anatomy are full price.
Payment Schedule:
- $500 non-refundable to reserve your spot
- Sign up by Dec 1st for $300 early bird discount off final payment due one week prior to start date of program.
- $2,400 due Dec 19th (Bay) / Dec 27th (LA)
- Remaining $2,000 due one week before the program begins
One Mighty Pilates Diversity Scholarship will be given in the Bay and one in LA. All costs will be covered except online Anatomy. Receipient will also receive free 10 privates sessions and a 40 pack of machine classes.
Note: Class is limited and spots are not guaranteed until paid. All sales final. If you are not able to make a weekend, you can try to travel to another location. If this is not an option, the cost of makeup weekend is $900. If another student also misses the same weekend, you may share the cost of the makeup session.
